Tattoos are a touchy subject. For many years, as a home-schooling, church-going, God-fearing woman, I thought tattoos signified evil.
I spent many years living in fear. Fear of upsetting my kid’s dad. Fear of making God mad at me. Fear of doing the wrong thing, saying the wrong thing, or just being wrong in general.
And then, a tattooed, dreadlocked, flowery-dress-wearing woman began attending our church. She and her husband and their children seemed nice enough, but I kept a safe distance, lest I become unduly influenced and find myself on the dark side of the street.
What if they were secretly nice, but inside their dark, tattooed lifestyle, they were actually dangerous?
